First Blooms

Dogwood Winter is over and the weather has warmed up wonderfully. The warm weather has brought the very first blossoms in my new rose garden.

Here is Kathleen Harrop. The photo does not do justice to the beautiful true pink color of her blossoms.

And here is Alfred Colomb. He is the most sumptuous red! And look at all the petals!

Both these plants are still quite small, so I am delighted to see blossoms on them. All my other roses look healthy as well, and most have buds on them.

Next steps for the rose garden including a good weeding, installation of the irrigation system, and a layer of mulch. We have been getting regular rain so far, but with warm weather finally here, the irrigation system and mulch will be more important to the health and comfort of my roses!
