The answer to the question, “What have you been up to lately?” is “Nothing much”. As I mentioned in my last post, work has been more demanding lately, leaving me fairly exhausted at the end of the week. Usually, I head into the weekend with a list of things that I want to accomplish. But lately, I start the weekend with the resolution to relax and to do only what I feel like doing.
I have not been completely lazy though. Here are a few of things I have been doing over the last couple of weeks:
- I have three coupons for free photo books from Shutterfly. One expired September 27, so I went through photos of my daughter from the past year or so and put together a photo book. It should arrive some time this week. If we like it, we will use one of the other coupons to order a second copy, and give them as Christmas gifts to the grandparents.
- I have had a flare-up of the pinched nerve in my shoulder for the past week. Last night, I splurged for a therapeutic massage. It took the guy a full hour to work out all the knots in my shoulders and neck.
- I ordered some fall and holiday scents and molds from Brambleberry to make some fall-themed soaps. I’d like to make some holiday-themed soaps as gifts this year, if the scents and molds work out.
- I ordered a very nice filing cabinet from Amazon, after having no luck finding a decent one at the second-hand stores. I went through a couple of large stacks of the seemingly never-ending pile of paper clutter, filed the important stuff, and shredded the rest.
I plan to spend this weekend relaxing, reading, doing laundry, and babying my recuperating shoulder. So when I return to work Monday and people ask me, “What did you do this weekend?”, I will probably say, “Nothing much”.
